13. ਇੱਕ ਦੁਕਾਨਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਸਤੂ 12.5% ਹਾਨੀ ਤੇ ਵੇਚੀ। ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਵਸਤੂ ਨੂੰ 51.80 ਰੁਪਏ ਵੱਧ ਤੇ ਵੇਚਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੂੰ 6% ਲਾਭ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਵਸਤੂ ਦਾ ਖਰੀਦ ਮੁੱਲ ਪਤਾ ਕਰੋ। A shopkeeper sells an article at loss of 12.5%. Had he sold it for Rs. 51.80 more then he would have earned a profit of 6%. The cost price of the article is:

Let C.P. be $Rs.x$.

Loss of $12.5\%$ means $S.P.$ of $100\%-12.5\%=87.5\%$

$\Rightarrow$  Then, (106%ofx)−(87.5​%ofx)=51.80

$\Rightarrow$  18.5​%ofx=51.80

$\Rightarrow$   x=51.80×100×2​/37=Rs.280

15. ਇੱਕ ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ‘ਤੇ 1.5 ਸਾਲ ਦਾ 8% ਦੀ ਦਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਧਾਰਨ ਵਿਆਜ 420 ਰੁਪਏ ਹੈ। ਰਾਸ਼ੀ ਪਤਾ ਕਰੋ। On an amount simple interest of 1.5 years at 8% per annum is Rs. 420. Find the principal.

a) Rs. 3500

b) Rs. 6300

c) Rs. 5250

d) Rs. 4200

Step 1:

Use the formula for SI and substitute SI = 420 , R = 8 and T = 1.5

=> 420 = P x 8 x 1.5/100

=> 420 = 12P/100

 

Step 2:

Solve for P

420 x 100  = 12P     ( Multiply both sides by  100)

35 x 100  =  P     ( Divide both sides by  12)

3500 = P

 

Principal of Rs 3500 gets a simple interest of Rs 420 in 1.5 years at 8% per annum.
